My State Monday

Would it be nice if we could discuss the issues that are unique to our respective states?

Or, is that way too exclusive for the blogosphere?

Maybe we are all similar enough that we don't need to worry about the variation from state to state?

I am new here, and I do not know the answers to these questions.

And, as far as I know, I might be having this conversation with myself.

Kansas High School Math teachers . . . if you are out there . . . I haven't found you yet.

If there is anyone out there, below is a set of math dominoes I created to review a few of the tested standards for the 10th grade KMA. It covers properties, solving for y, linear graphs, parallel vs. perpendicular, and steeper, flatter, higher, lower. It feels like mostly Algebra I level math to me, so maybe this would be useful to anyone.

If not, at least I figured out how to post a document on here. Yay me!

  2. I don't know any KS teachers, but I'm your neighbor to the south :)

Also, do you have a twitter account? I have about 150 math teachers that I follow and it's an AMAZING resource of people like @Fouss and @k8nowak (from f(t)) and @samjshah (from Continuous Nowhere), etc... come join us sometime :) I'm @druinok on there

  3. KFouss, Scribd is great -- I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was!

MizT, Hello neighbor! Snow day for you? We are having #2 in a row tomorrow. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get a twitter account, but I am definitely starting to feel like I am missing out. I think I will take your advice and sign up.

  7. Hey! I just found a link to your blog, and I just wanted to leave you a note to say Hi! I'm working on completing my math education degree, and I just find blogs like this to be so inspiring. It really reminds me why I'm stressing myself out with all these insane math classes. It will be worth it in the end!

So, thanks for letting me live vicariously through your teaching experiences until I have a classroom of my own. And, I love the idea of math dominoes. I'm bookmarking it so I can use it eventually. Thank you so much for sharing!
